Best Gourmet White Barbecue Sauce

  1. Barbecuing is not what it used to be. When growing up the only time that my family would start up the grill or smoker was in the summer and on the weekends. Today, people barbecue every night and all year round. Barbecue sauces have come along way since then as well. There used to be only a couple of choices at your local market like white sauce pizza dominos. But now with the invention of "super" markets the amount barbecue sauces you can buy locally has grown significantly. For those gourmet barbecue sauces the web is probably the only place you will find these unique sauces. If you don't live in the Alabama area the only place you will find traditional White BBQ Sauce like Big Bob Gibson's is on the web or of course you can try to make it yourself.

In Alabama Barbecue traditional Sauce uses Mayonnaise as its base rather than tomato sauce, vinegar, or any of the other more typical barbecue sauce bases. It is clearly a region favorite. Bob Gibson of Decatur, Alabama is credited with the invention the white sauce back in 1925. Friends and family were first treated to this secret-recipe sauce on chicken and pork at weekend barbecues where boards were nailed to trees for tables. Today, this famous mayonnaise-based condiment is traditionally employed to baste chicken, seafood and pork.

White BBQ Sauce is as synonymous with the state with Alabama as the legendary "BAMA" football program. White BBQ Sauce's intriguing flavor complements salads and is a superb baste for chicken, pork and turkey. You can also use White Sauce as an ingredient to add an extra kick to your favorite slaw or potato salad. However, because the racks of your local grocer are dominated by many incarnations of tomato-based sauces and white bbq sauce is such a regional anomaly, most people outside Alabama have not tested this concoction of flavor.
  2. Like many barbecue sauces you want to apply this only at the very end of your grilling or smoking. It will breakdown and separate if it is heated too long. Use this sauce on chicken and turkey. It is also good on pork. Alabama White Barbecue Sauce has a tangy flavor that is a great addition to grilled foods.
White BBQ Sauce makes a unique experience. Use this recipe when grilling chicken; brush lightly over the chicken during the last few minutes of grilling. This sauce is also great for dipping; keep some sauce aside for passing at the table.

  2. spicy vegan taco salad!!! #salsa #guacamole #beans #salad #veganinstagram.com/p/dP4LYSEYAD/
  3. Ingredients for the Spicy Taco 7 Layer Salad Recipe:

    3 cups of Romaine Lettuce

2 cups of Tortilla Chips (crushed)

1 1/2 cups of Yellow Onion (chopped)

    1 pound of Ground Beef

1 1/2 cups of Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

2 cups of Salsa (medium flavored)

1 1/2 cups of Sour Cream

If you think that the salsa will be too hot for you, simply replace it with a mild version. And on the other side, if you'd really like to spice things up a bit, just add three tablespoons of hot sauce to the salsa. Or include some chopped up jalapenos to the recipe.

    Directions:

    1. Chop up the romaine lettuce and place in bottom of a large bowl for the first layer.

    2. Take your crushed tortilla chips and distribute evenly over the lettuce to make your second layer.

    3. Next, spread the yellow onion over the tortilla chips to form your third layer of the salad.

    4. Cook up the ground beef in a frying pan. Make sure to remove as much grease off the meat as possible. Generally, I squeeze out most of the grease using a spatula, and then pat down the cooked beef firmly with a few pieces of paper towel. Spread ground beef over the onion for layer four.

    5. Carefully spoon the salsa over all of the ground beef. This gives you the spicy fifth layer.

    6. Generously spread the cheddar cheese over the ground beef for your next layer. If you do this shortly after the ground beef has been cooked, you get the cheese to melt into it.

    7. For the final layer, you are going to evenly add the sour cream on top of the cheese.

    8. Cover the salad bowl with plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator overnight.

    9. When it comes time to serve the salad, just toss it quickly and add any additional spices and toppings.

If you like Mexican food, then you will absolutely love my Spicy Taco 7 Layer Salad recipe. I especially like the crunchiness of the tortilla chips mixed together with lettuce and salsa. Occasionally, I won't refrigerate the salad overnight and instead serve it while it's still warm. Its like eating a taco in a bowl. Delicious and your hands are kept clean.

Types of Green Chai Tea

  1. Many different types of tea are consumed by people around the world. For centuries Europeans have been drinking tea and for millennia Asians have been drinking green tea. The main producers and exporters of green tea throughout the world include China, Argentina, Japan, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Tanzania. Green tea is available in many flavors, one of which is green chai tea.

Many wonder what the fad about green chai tea is. Basically the original green tea from eastern countries has nothing to do with green chai tea. Western marketing firms created it in the 21st century. The word chai originated in the first place when the tea was different from the original green tea from India.
  2. Westernized Chai

Green chai tea is now famous everywhere in the western world and is an alternative to coffee for many people who want a healthy drink that will help keep them fit without have to go to the east. Single-serve and ready to drink tea lattes are the most common forms. Day by day the green chai tea industry is growing strong as time goes by. This is because people are becoming more concerned with their food intake and health. They find that green tea derivatives fit the bill since they burn their fat or cholesterol and help boost their energy levels.

In several languages "chai" means tea and started in the Indian language. Chimney, chai, masala chai, milk chai and several others are the most famous chais in India. India is actually the origin of the original green chai tea, where it was typically served at houses and chai stops all over the country without milk. The addition of honey and sugar can enhance this particular green chai tea. For inspiration many western companies probably looked to this tea and decided to commercialize green teas because of their popularity. Soon they were added to the roster of products sold in western countries like the United States.

Kashmir green chai tea, spicy tea latte, organic green chai tea are just a few of the various flavors that green chai tea comes in. They are very high in antioxidants just like the original teas and are extremely useful to the bodies immune systems. They can last for a long time since they are well packed so they are both economical to purchase and healthy.

Unique Things About Caffeine

  1. What exactly is caffeine? It is a colorless, somewhat bitter substance that is found in coffee, tea, chocolate and cola. It is also in many over- the-counter medicines and in many diet/weight loss supplements. It is a stimulant and it is considered a psychoactive drug. It is the most widely consumed drug in this country. Drugmakers are required by law to list the amount of caffeine in their product, however, food and beverage companies do not have to. The caffeine that is taken out of coffee beans to produce decaffeinated coffee is then sold to drug companies and soft drink manufacturers.

It can be a welcome waker-upper in the morning taken in that morning cup of coffee beverage recipes. It also helps give some a boost to stay awake late in the day. However, the boost isn't necessarily instant as it takes about an hour for the effects of caffeine to make it's way through the bloodstream and into the system. It has benefits and it has side effects. It helps keep us alert. It stimulates the central nervous system. Some say it improves physical and mental performance. It has diuretic activity. Some studies list is as a mood elevator, and a pain reliever. Because of the increased alertness levels of those who consume caffeine, there has been improved performance in activities such as test-taking, driving, flying and problem solving.
  2. There are side effects of caffeine though. Those are insomnia, nervousness, increased tension and anxiety-panic attacks, just from drinking the amount of 300 mg. The amount that causes these side effects vary from individual to individual, however, children seem to have a lower tolerance of it because of their lower body weight. The Food and Drug Administration advises pregnant women to avoid it altogether. The FDA does list it as a "safe food additive", even though pregnant women should avoid it. For those that take it regularly every day, going without it a day can cause withdrawal symptoms such as, headaches, irritability, a lack of energy and of course, sleepiness. These withdrawal symptoms are short lived though.

The following is a chart and the amount of caffeine in products you use and consume daily.

    6 ounce cup of coffee - 64mg to 150mg

5 ounce cup of tea- 40mg

12 ounce can of cola- 40mg

    hot cocoa - 1 cup 4mg

    6 ounce chocolate bar 25mg

    2 Excedrin tablets 130mg

Besides weight loss products and stay awake products and energy drinks, caffeine is being tested for pesticide use and it has been laced in women's panty hose for it's constrictive effects that are supposed to shrink thighs. Love it or hate it, caffeine is and always has been a big part of American culture and probably is here to stay.
